estimated date of writing: 1st half was between September 13 and 18, 2021. 2nd half was written on February 27, 2025.
project associated with it: absolutely no idea, although its sound, comically enough, is a bit similar to Lay Where She Lays now that I think about it.
link to listen to it: soon.

[Verse 1]
A primadonna worth hanging on
With a rose colored pride in her hands
Much like the mornings where I wouldn’t have a plan
You would weave me again and again

[Verse 2]
A chalice half full and Agamemnon
Howling weeps as old Elliott can
Much like the mornings where I wouldn’t have a chance
You would leave me again and again

[Chorus 1]
It’s funny
As I melt, you strike a pose
Seeming unobtainable
In a world where dreaming hurts deep in our souls…
Heaven-bent

[Verse 1]
Past the wonders and through the gate
There’s a piece of her every day
And spilled on my bed you’ll find every word she said
They are fish in an ocean of clay

[Verse 2]
A sinful centerfold, it’s a paragon
Not a song, but a cry molds the man
Along the summit, clouds were always made of sand
It’s a grief you would not understand

[Chorus 2]
It’s funny
To believe you’d be a ghost
Seeking love to haunt a host
In a world where one is limp and his control is…
Heaven-bent

About the song: It’s clearly a song about feeling like you’re being overpowered by your partner. The other person carries so much emotional (and possibly physical) power over you, you feel powerless in their presence. You feel weak. When I wrote the song, I wasn’t thinking of anyone in particular, of course, so when I came to finish it I had to try and keep it faceless still, so not to disturb its wishes. It wasn’t hard because the song describes something I have never lived through. Or maybe have, but not in a romantic relationship. I guess the most common thread between me and the character of the song is that we both feel very weak.

Also, I called this song “heaven-bent” or “primadonna” for aaaaaaages, but then I searched in my voice notes folder trying to find the date I wrote it and I found out I named it “moonflower” on that day. What a beautiful name! Fits the song very well! (it’s also very funny to me that on 2021~22 every song had “moon” in its title looool)
